The Intermediate level is where the rubber hits the road. Most of the time the student is from 9- 11 years old. This is less about entertaining the students and more about getting down to teaching. This is where you see if you are a true teacher or just a clown in a teachers suit.

At this level sometimes you have to put your foot down and draw the line. It is a balancing act to keep them learning. That is what a great teacher does to get the results for the students.

This ESL lesson is about Landforms. The Intermediate Level constituents of a song related to the main idea of the unit, what do you see? I see a/an ___. (sea, ocean, glacier, The sea is___(big/small), (blue,yellow), and has waves. What lives in the sea? What do you see in the sea? I see a (train/ship) in the sea. How is the ocean different from the sea? The ocean is different from the sea because it is (bigger,smaller, deeper, shorter) than the sea. The glacier is (little/large). It is made of (ice/sand). It moves on (salt/water). What lives on the glacier? What do you see? I see a ___ in the sea. (waterfall, river, lake, pond, valley). Which is bigger? A ___ is bigger than a ___. (lake,pond). Can we drink fresh water? Review the vocabulary in a picture game. What is salt water? Salt water is water  ____. Where do sharks live? What do sharks eat?
